White Spirit’s self-titled 1980 album is the sole studio LP from the Hartlepool band and a notable release from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Featuring guitarist Janick Gers, later of Iron Maiden, the album combines driving hard rock and heavy metal with prominent keyboards and a melodic edge. Highlights include “Midnight Chaser,” “Red Skies,” “High Upon High” and “Way of the Kings.”
