The Wedding Present’s George Best is their 1987 debut album and a defining record of British independent guitar music of the period. Produced by Chris Allison, it established the band’s characteristic combination of David Gedge’s sharply observed relationship songs, rapid-fire rhythm guitar and urgent, melodic indie rock.
