Live at Max’s Kansas City captures The Velvet Underground performing at the legendary New York nightclub in August 1970, shortly before Lou Reed’s departure from the band. Recorded by Brigid Polk on a portable cassette recorder, the album offers a raw, intimate document of the group’s final period with Reed, featuring Sterling Morrison, Doug Yule and Maureen Tucker.

This expanded double-LP edition presents additional performances from the historic recordings, including versions of “Sweet Jane,” “I’m Waiting for the Man,” “Pale Blue Eyes,” “Sunday Morning” and “Femme Fatale.” An essential document of the New York underground rock scene.

Atlantic Records. Expanded Edition, 2x Vinyl LP.

Mint and Sealed.
