The Brian Jonestown Massacre’s self-titled album is a 2019 recording that finds Anton Newcombe continuing the band’s distinctive blend of psychedelic rock, shoegaze and hypnotic guitar music. Recorded at Newcombe’s Cobra Studio in Berlin, the album combines layered guitars, drones and melodic songwriting with the hazy, immersive atmosphere that runs throughout the group’s extensive catalogue. Highlights include “Drained,” “Cannot Be Saved” and “A Word.”
