Ted Hawkins – Dock of the Bay: The Venice Beach Tapes II (Vinyl LP, American Activities, 1987) – EX / EX

Ted Hawkins’ Dock of the Bay: The Venice Beach Tapes II captures the raw, intimate character of the American singer-songwriter’s early recordings. Hawkins’ extraordinary, soulful voice sits at the centre of stripped-back performances that move between soul, blues, folk and R&B. The recordings reflect the direct, street-performance style associated with his years singing on Venice Beach.

Excellent Vinyl LP and Sleeve.
