Mudhoney’s self-titled debut album arrived in 1989 and remains one of the defining records of the early Seattle grunge scene. Built around Mark Arm’s snarling vocals and the raw guitar attack of Arm and Steve Turner, the album draws equally from garage rock, punk and the heavier end of 1970s rock. Highlights include “This Gift,” “Flat Out Fucked,” “Here Comes Sickness” and “When Tomorrow Hits.”
