Originally recorded in 1951 and reissued here as a 1975 double LP, Dig captures the young Miles Davis pushing bebop toward modern jazz. Featuring Jackie McLean, Sonny Rollins, and Art Blakey, these sessions combine blistering tempos with early hints of the modal phrasing that would define Davis’s later work. The sound is raw, spontaneous, and full of fire from a group on the edge of change.
