Recorded with two different quartets, the album features musicians including pianist Don Friedman, bassist Ron Carter, drummer Jack DeJohnette and pianist Kenny Barron. Combining intricate harmonic structures, modal exploration and powerful rhythmic interplay, the record captures Henderson during a particularly creative period following his celebrated Blue Note recordings.
