Jay McShann and Eddie “Cleanhead” Vinson’s Live in France brings together two masters of blues-inflected jazz in a lively concert setting. McShann’s swinging piano and Vinson’s distinctive alto saxophone and vocals draw naturally on Kansas City jazz, jump blues and R&B. The result is a relaxed, hard-swinging performance steeped in the blues tradition.
