Fairport Convention's Gladys' Leap, released in 1985, marked the influential British folk rock band's return to studio recording after several years of inactivity. Featuring Dave Pegg, Simon Nicol, Dave Mattacks, Ric Sanders and Martin Allcock, the album combines traditional folk influences with contemporary songwriting and the group's distinctive instrumental arrangements. Highlights include "How Many Times," "My Feet Are Set for Dancing" and Ralph McTell's "The Hiring Fair," which became an enduring favourite of the band's live repertoire. Released on the group's own Woodworm Records label, the album represents an important chapter in Fairport Convention's later career.
