Two celebrated Elgar recordings brought together on vinyl: Jacqueline Du Pré’s landmark performance of the Cello Concerto with Sir John Barbirolli and the London Symphony Orchestra, alongside Janet Baker’s acclaimed interpretation of Sea Pictures. Du Pré’s intensely expressive performance has long been regarded as one of the defining recordings of Elgar’s concerto, while Baker brings remarkable depth to the song cycle.
