Don Cherry's Where Is Brooklyn?is a landmark of avant-garde jazz, recorded in 1966 and originally released on Blue Note Records in 1969. Featuring Cherry on cornet alongside Pharoah Sanders on tenor saxophone, Henry Grimes on bass and Ed Blackwell on drums, the album captures an adventurous quartet exploring the boundaries of free jazz and collective improvisation. With compositions including "Awake Nu," "There Is the Bomb" and "Unite," the recording combines intense ensemble interplay with Cherry's distinctive melodic approach. This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Series reissue presents an essential recording from the label's more experimental catalogue.
