Jazz at Oberlin captures the Dave Brubeck Quartet live at Oberlin College in 1953, during the period when the group was establishing itself as one of the most distinctive voices in modern jazz. Brubeck is joined by Paul Desmond on alto saxophone, Lloyd Davis on drums and Ron Crotty on bass, with the interplay between Brubeck and Desmond at the heart of the performance. Highlights include “These Foolish Things,” “Perdido,” “Stardust” and “The Way You Look Tonight.”
