Groundbreaking stuff here from Brian Eno. 'Ambient 1: Music For Airports' was released in 1978 and marks the first time the word "ambient" was used in connection with this kind of music. Eno made the album by layering tape loops. His intention was to make a soundscape that would cut through anxieties and tension in an airport.
