Black Uhuru - Black Sounds of Freedom (Vinyl LP, VP Records) - Mint / Sealed

Black Sounds of Freedom is a classic roots reggae album by Black Uhuru, originally released in 1981, drawing on recordings from the group's formative period in the late 1970s. Produced by Prince Jammy, the album features the powerful vocal combination of Michael Rose, Duckie Simpson and Errol Nelson, backed by deep, uncompromising roots rhythms.

The music reflects the militant Rastafarian themes and heavy bass-driven production of the era, capturing Black Uhuru before their international breakthrough. Highlights include “I Love King Selassie,” “Satan Army Band,” “Time to Unite” and “Natural Mystic.”
